Easy Math

I'm not the world's greatest fitness lover but I'm no fool. I know working out creates the results that I like (i.e. flat stomach-hello) and Pilates is by the far my favorite way to get where I need to be. I used to take Pilates regularly and hands down had the best abs of my life (seriously). But believe it or not it's so easy to do some of the core ab exercises right at home (my favorite is the Pilates Hundred). Check out the top Pilates ab exercises here!

Trina Turk Vintage Print triangle top $79 & bottom $79. I love the colorful vintage inspired print. What a great way to showcase those Pilates abs (not there yet-but I'm working on it one exercise at a time)

Fashion Faux Pas Friday

We've all had a time when we stepped out into the world and looked back in regret at our fashion or hair choices (Oh okay, all of the sudden nobody remembers biker shorts or their Jheri Curl?). It happens to everybody (I did manage to dodge the Jheri Curl bullet though). After all fashion can be fun, fashion can be painful, but who knew fashion could be so down right embarrassing. Hope you get a good laugh. Happy Friday!

Yikes, that's going to hurt in the morning.

The Time Has Come

Spring is officially here and that means bathing suit season is around the corner. Summer will be here before we know it so I don't think I can put off exercising another minute (with pool parties, beach bonfires and vacations coming up and I would like to be in the pictures). The only thing more motivating than the thought of a firmer butt is cute exercise gear (I'm so deep and complex is scares me sometimes). Hey, it's a scientific fact looking cute makes you feel great and motivates you into action. Besides, you never know who you're going to run into at the gym. I don't care what you say no one wants to run into their ex or Friday night's potential date wearing a ratty t-shirt and hole ridden sweat pants (hey, it can happen).

Target, a store very close to my heart, always has great workout clothing that is affordable and cute (there's a better selection in the stores). If you can't think of facing the gym without bringing high fashion to fitness check out Stella McCartney's collection for Adidas here (warning- cute stuff but it's going to cost you).

Come to Mama

Lately I've been thinking that maybe I should slow down on buying the big ticket items these days (after all we are in a recession). But, I'd love to get my hands on the new HP Mini 1000 Clutch by designer Vivienne Tam. At 2.45 lbs and less than 1" inch, this laptop is absolutely adorable (a fashionista's dream-LOVE IT) and mirrors Vivienne Tam's Spring '09 collection. The last thing I need is a new computer, but I might not be able to resist. I can count this as a write off, right?

The matching bag and scarf are available too (however, I don't know if I'd recommend that much matching-the shoes are cute though).
For more info check out my full article on online magazine Guts.Glam . Grace.

Weekend Shopping Coast to Coast

Happy Friday ladies! It's been a long week and I could not be happier to see the beginning of the weekend. I stumbed across some cool shopping events for you ladies in the Bay area and NYC. If you're in the San Franciso area this weekend check out the Vintage Fashion Expo. New York City girls check out the A Second Chance Resale event. Both these events hit on two things close to my heart, vintage clothing and consignment shopping (everything should this blissful). Who says a true fashionista can't go green (remember recycling fashion helps the environment too)? Happy shopping! photo top right: Golden Gate Bridge by PanDiSal on Flickr

White Hot!

I love the idea of a stand out accessory. This season we have a lot of choices: cool earrings, bracelets, statement necklaces. Why not switch it up a little with a stand out watch. These white watches demand attention, and tell time too (gotta love a two for one special)! The great thing about rocking a white watch is that you have the versatility of a neutral color but it's bolder and adds more pop than your basic black. Besides, I'm a sucker for a throwback look and I get a very 60's mod feel from white. Do you like?
Juicy Couture "Socialite" Bracelet Watch $195

Adidas "Candy Collection" Digital Watch $65. My pick - It's sporty, oversized, digital, and rubber (reminds me of my old Swatch watch).

Oh, and there's also this option. Well, it's white and someone actually gave this to me. And yes, that is the Obama family on the face of the watch (wow).

Color Me Happy

Gray winter skies got you down? That's no reason to surround yourself in a sea of gray and black. Spring is just around the corner but why wait, inject some color into your wardrobe today. Brighten up your day (and your mood) with spring's most colorful accessories. The best recipe to cure the winter blues is to stir in color and smile. How will you add in color this season?

It's Not You It's Me

Or maybe it is you. No, I'm sure it's him. If you can't decide, VH1 and the producers of He's Just Not That Into You think it's time you had some Tough Love (and they actually think it's you). The show's goal is to show women why they're having trouble in love (and of course they have to put them all under one roof and through a bootcamp to do so). I don't believe for a second that these women have problems (I'm sure they're perfect, right?). But, it might to interesting to see what might be holding these seemingly acceptable girls back from finding love (not for research, strictly for entertainment purposes only-really). Tough Love premieres this Sunday, March 15 at 10/9c. Catch a sneak peak here.

Ladies Start Your Engines: LA Special

I love to shop, and I love to save money. If you're anything like me, when I shop and save money (like way below retail) it's pure bliss (bring on the warm and fuzzies). I smell a sample sale! LA girls rev up for the Sassy City Chicks designer sample sale. If you're interested in saving up to 80% on designers like Marc Jacobs, Black Halo, and J Brand log on , buy a $3 ticket and be at the Marina del Rey Marriott on Sunday, March 29 from 10-3pm.

18th Century Style

Take a cue from the past for instant feminine style that packs a powerful punch. Try working the magic of a bustier or corset into your wardrobe. Renaissance women were on to something when they hit the scene in waist cinching style. We can flaunt the same sexy style today minus the pain and occasional shortness of breath (cute and comfortable options do exist).

Belted Corset Top $49, Victoria's Secret. An easy sexy option to pair with jeans or a pencil skirt (the sexy look is even easier to pull off when your Adriana Lima)

Billie Gingham Top $69, Guess. There's something so sweet about gingham even though it's a sexy button down bustier. This would like cute with a full skirt (preferably short) or Spring's wider loose pants.

Ultimate Satin Bustier $68, Frederick's Of Hollywood. Don't just keep this bustier in the bedroom. You can easily tuck this in to a high waisted pencil skirt or silk belted pants and don't forget to cover up with a light weight cropped jacket.

What A Sly Foxx

Once again the work week is coming to an end and weekend is about to begin. I was listening (actually dancing) to my favorite song on the radio the other day and thought, Jamie Foxx can do just about anything. Take a second and think of someone who has been successful at conquering acting, comedy, and music (no, Eddie Murphy's My Girl Likes To Party All The Time wasn't exactly Grammy material). Jamie's new hit, Blame It On Alcohol, is just what I need to get my weekend started. I love the video! Who else can bring out major star power and be chauffeured by an acclaimed director (who he just threw in just because he can) just for a R & B music video?

Dynasty Anyone?

I love the 80's with all its big hair, leather pants, neon, and Michael Jackson mania. I especially love all the inspiration it's providing for today's fashion (Dynasty could have very well been the 80's fashionista's version of Sex and the City). Many designers have taken a cue from the 80's to inspire their Fall 09 collections hot off the runways from Fashion Week. Dolce and Gabbana has decided to take the 80's inspiration literally by parading just about every model down the runway in outfits that include shoulder pads (gasp!). Are we ready to repeat the beloved era in such a dramatic way? Will the real Alexis Carrington please stand up. I think I'm going to do just like Nancy Reagan told me to and Just Say No!

Kick Up Your Heels

Want to know how to transform one pair of shoes into two for about $25? It's easy to do using shoe clips. I was having a random thought (surprisingly this happens quite often) and wondered "what ever happen to shoe clips?" Shoe clips have been around for ages but I honestly I don't remember seeing them since 1986. But think about it, you can wear your old stand by black stilettos a variety of different ways (casual to dressy in seconds) without the price of buying a pair of new shoes. The concept is genius, I may give it a test drive. Do you remember the last time you saw one of these?

Black Satin Large Bow Clip $38, Aliza Darik. These bows would look cute clipped on to a pair of ballet flats. Or make a dramatic exit by clipping on the back of the heel of a stiletto.

Wish Shoe Clip $25, Absolutely Audrey. I found a really cute online boutique, Absolutey Audrey, that sells the cutest vintage, modern and bridal shoe clips.

Shoe clips can be a great versatile option for brides (where was this idea when I was a bridesmaid in 7 weddings?-I'm not joking, 7).
