Tracy Feith is right on Target

It's payday and what do you know gas prices are creeping up again and everyone has bills to pay. But a girl still have to have some satisfaction. That's why I love Target and their Go International collaborations with innovative designers. Tracy Feith is the latest designer collabo and his line is a bright, global chic and vintage inspired dream (with Target prices). This gives me yet another excuse to go to Target.

Available in store through June 2oth.

We Wear Short Shorts

Break out the Nair ladies, it's time to put those legs on display. It's unofficially summer and if the weather is right, shorts can't be wrong (well that's not necessarily true-sometimes they can be down right offensive).

Knitago Denim Short $54, Urban Outfitters. Let's be honest, on the wrong person these can be a bad mistake. But if you have the legs to pull these off, go for it (Disclaimer: given they're age appropriate or you're strolling in South Beach Miami or somewhere else no one you know is there to report how short your shorts were).

Frayed Jean Short $39.50, Victoria's Secret. The denim cut off is summer's go to short short. Don't feel quite right shelling out the big bucks for these, make your own at home.

Haven "Amy" Print Silk Romper $118, Nordstrom. Take short shorts into the night. All you need is a warm summer night and killer heels (and maybe some good jewelry- i.e. long chain necklaces).

Happy Memorial Day! I love a holiday weekend and we have one last day to celebrate. Enjoy your holiday Monday!

Madonna always knows how to get the party started. Still hot over 20 years later-although I could have sworn I saw this exact outfit yesterday.

Unisex Short-Sleeve Scrimmage Shirt $16, American Apparel.

Thick Knit Jersey Skirt $19, American Apparel.

Rainbow Brights

Once the weather heats up, what better time than any to have fun with bright colors. Candy-coated color seems to be everywhere. What's the easiest (and cheapest) way to add some color? This summer's stand out accessory...bright, candy colored nails! Go ahead, have some fun and try pinks, yellows, orange, and green (check out Sephora's Digital Diva collection By OPI in store or online). These colors are weekend, poolside and beach approved (job interview, not so much).

Check out how the latest colors look on you with OPI's virtual tester (you can actually adjust the skin color of the hand, the nail length and polish color). They have some great colors in their Brights by OPI collection. See the hottest bright colors and try them on here.

The Old Switcheroo: Swap out Stilettos with Wedges

Stilettos may be a girl's best friend (actually they're more like a guy's best friend) but sometimes the feet just need a break. But, how does a girl maintain her sexy without all the pain? She wears wedges instead! Wedges offer the same height as stilettos (sometimes even higher) and same amazing tricks for your legs. However, you can wear them with short shorts or a bikini without looking like a Playboy centerfold or like you're up next on the stripper pole. Fair enough?

Nine West "Leonato" $99. Just as cute with a mini or maxi dress.

Emma Park "Laria" Wedge in Teal Dot $59.50. Whimsical and Fun. Add flair to any outfit or go super pin-up girl when you add these to a one-piece retro style swimsuit.

Emilio Pucci High Heeled Wedges $299.99. Patent leather and a silk covered wedge make it easy to take these wedges into the night.

Meet me at the Beach

For Fun, Sun and Fitness stop by Shape Magazine's Bikini Body Tour (get info here)tomorrow, May 16 in Santa Monica, CA. Don't fret, if you're in Miami the tour is swinging by South Beach on June 13. Test out some new classes, see a fashion, or maybe you'll win one if the sweepstakes trips (whatever you do, make sure to score plenty of free samples). It's going to be like 100 degrees in LA this weekend, the beach may be the only option to actually avoid melting (seriously). Enjoy your weekend!

Live In The Shade: Cool Sunglasses

Every now and then you just want to go incognito or just be really obnoxious and Hollywood. The right sunglasses can help you do just that. Not too many accessories can make a t-shirt and jeans or a really bad hair day look glamorous. Time to bring on the sun and slip on the shades. I love Spring!

Metal Aviators $98, Marc by Marc Jacobs. Very police officer sexy!

Resin Aviators $129, RayBan. Old school Ray-Ban in a modern aviator frame. The darker the lens, the more incognito.

Oversized Squares $260, Marc Jacobs. These scream glamorous!
The tortoise shell color is less severe than black and the sides are Stevie Wondered out just the way I like them (dramatic and provide the most sun protection-no crows feet over here).

Keep in mind not every pair of shades are for every face shape. Our friends at Nordstrom provide a guide and choices for each face shape on their website.

Monday Motivation: Get Lucky!

It's Monday and today of all days we need some motivation. How motivating is getting cash back when you shop? If you're a magazine freak like I am, this is a two for one special. I already subscribe to Lucky magazine (along with roughly a million others) and I honestly don't need another excuse to shop, but Lucky subscribers get cash back every time they shop online through myLuckyrewards.com. Here's how it works: Subscribe to Lucky magazine (here), sign up for My Lucky Rewards (here- it's free for Lucky subscribers), shop on the site, and get cash back (yes, they will send you a Visa prepaid check card with your rewards to your doorstep). Money back for shopping-that's pretty motivating, right?

right: Ecote Warei Dress $39.99, Urban Outfitters (get 3% cash back through My Lucky Rewards).

Between cash back for shopping and Oprah's free KFC chicken offer, I can hardly contain myself these days.

Friday Night Lights

Happy Friday girls! The weather is heating up and it's time to showcase a color other than black (come on you can do it). How about white? Time to lighten up on the colors and fabrics and stand out in the the crowd. All white can be so cool and chic. And you know you're eventually going to need at least one white outfit for the inevitable random "White Party" (it happens at some point every year and I'm never prepared). Enjoy your weekend!
Mini Dress by Boutique $60, TopShop.

BR Monogram Goddess Dress $275 & Opulent Bib Necklace $125, Banana Republic. "White Party" ready backless dress complete with pockets.

Retro push up top $28 & skirted scoop bottom $30, Victoria's Secret. White hot!

Cheers: Cinco 4 Mayo

Okay, so yesterday was Cinco de Mayo and I must say I had a lot of fun. All I have to say is long live the neighborhood dive bar! Trying to get a margarita in Los Angeles on Cinco de Mayo is murder. All the popular chains were jammed packed and all the drinks were watered down. A friend of mine suggested a neighborhood Mexican restaurant/bar that she loves. Hey, it was still jammed packed but boy were the the drinks good and the service even better (the owner even comes out and high fives all the guests). Sipping margaritas and kicking back made me think of chilling in Mexico (I wouldn't be caught dead there now-hello, swine flu!) and the ease of the ultimate kick back shoe, the flip-flop. Here are five of my favorites!

(above photo: taken at Amigos-Pasadena, CA with server Janet)

Havaianas Flip Flop $24. In a versatile metallic gold and cute peacock feather print.

Tory Burch flip flop $45. For you label lovers that just can't resist (super cute in pink).

Juicy "Laney" Wedge $64.95. Love the nautical design. A flip flop wedge does wonders for your legs. When poolside think of them as the equivalent of wearing stilettos with your bikini.

Report "Myrick" flip flop $59.95. The simplicity of leather and wood. These go with everything.

The Target Special
Xhilaration Embellished flip flop $12.99. A little sparkle never hurt anybody.

Weekend Update: Uniquely LA

I stumbled upon the greatest event at the last minute this weekend in LA and had to share. Unique Los Angeles is a two day shopping event that showcases over 275 local independent designers all under the same roof at the famed California Market Center (as in my beloved spot for monthly sample sales). There will be more events to come and I promise to keep you posted. I barely squeezed in on the last day with only an hour to spare. But mama works quick, so I made my rounds in a flash. There were a lot of cool items to be had but my favorite spot overall would have to have to go to Nicacelly. Each one of a kind piece from Nicacelly was eclectic, comfortable and sexy (just hot!). How else could one describe a low cut, fitted dress with an old school image of Big Daddy Kane getting a fade?

Love it!

Nicacelly's designer, Nicole Markoff, holding one of her designs (which was the cutest jumpsuit ever that I refused to let myself buy due to the fact that I now own FIVE jumpsuits).

All Vintage All The Time

It's no secret, I love vintage clothing. I'm also not opposed to buying something brand spanking new either. But when I'm in my throwback mood and don't have hours to go through the racks at my favorite vintage store's, there's always my computer. I discovered a cute blog (and online store) that talks all vintage all the time, http://www.debutanteclothing.com/.
Great info on all things vintage (not so great prices on the clothes). Worth a click. Have a Happy Friday!
